0

Zepp Labs and Blast Motion, announced last Friday that they have reached a resolution to the patent infringement law suit filed by Blast Motion in March 2015. Zepp Labs make sensors that allow users to analyze performance across a number of sports including baseball, softball, golf, tennis and soccer. In 2015, Blast Motion, a similar company, filed a law suit for patent infringement.

The U.S district court for Southern District of California found that both parties have infringed on each other’s patents. Both the parties have agreed for a settlement that allows them to keep their products on the market with the exception of Zepp’s baseball and softball sensors. The remaining terms of the agreement were confidential.

Zepp’s baseball and softball sensors will no longer be sold in U.S and this injunctive will go into effect after June 17th, 2018.

Zepp says that it will continue with the existing baseball and softball apps, focusing on the previously existing features. They are also planning to introduce new features to the Apple Watch and other wearables. On the other hand, Blast Motion is also planning measures on its part that are in support of Zepp customers.
