We have number of different wearables with different usages and different functions. Various companies have utilized numerous technologies. From turning ocean waste into wearable to detecting your breath level, we have seen every sort of bizarre thing converting into reality.
Now comes the turn of converting your wastes’ into wearable with eye-dropping functionalities. This is literally not a joke! Scientists have found a way to convert your pee into a fuel for new wearable. No matter how stupid or cranky I sound, I am telling you an entire truth.(Well,now going to moon and beyond seems small and ordinary, Ain’t it?)
As mentioned above, we truly are living in a digital world where everything is possible. Continuing our topic of urine and its wonders, A team of scientists from the Bristol’s University of the West of England have formulated the funny wearable we are talking about.
The new wearable is in the form of socks. The new socks will be capable of sending the message, whenever you are in emergency. What kind of emergency? Like, when your socks are full of urine, May be?
In real, the scientists have used the idea of microbial fuel cell technology in the new pair of socks. The fuel technology is the process in which bacteria turns the liquid waste into electricity. In general, when you will be roaming with you pee-filled socks, you will push 648 milliliters of pee into integrated tubes and into microbial fuel cells (MFCs). The cells in turn will create electricity. (A question here, Why do we need electricity in our body?)
For all the people, who are goung crazy and lunatic with the idea, the way I am, you won’t have to pee into your socks. These foot warmers will have squishy silicon tubes fitted on the heel. The heel in turn will be connected to MFCs, situated near your ankle. It means that when you will walk, you will force the urine towards MFCs, and in lab, this created enough energy to tell everyone that you are wearing the “World’s First Wearable MFC“. EWWWW!
The new wearable, although gross, has opened possibilites for using waste material as the powering portable and wearable electronics.
Llead Professor Ioannis Ieropoulos said that the socks have opened a new dimension and personalities for the wearable world. The new possibilty is literally peeing on yourself and than acting as the portable electricity station.
He also said;
“Having already powered a mobile phone with MFCs using urine as fuel, we wanted to see if we could replicate this success in wearable technology.”
The wearable is nowhere near ready. It will take a lot of time to be a reality. True to his word,Loannis wearable is indeed a successful MFC generator. The product has already been successful among masses. Everyone is joking about it,but we all are waiting for it to release. Only the matter left is to see if this wearable will be realistic enough or not.
