Synchronizing Amazfit smartwatches with Google’s fitness oriented Google Fit application has become a lot easier and users do not have to worry about finding any workarounds to make this connection anymore.
The latest update of application (v4.2.0) brought this new and exciting feature on 20th of this month. Huami has however not mentioned this at all in the log files which accompany this. Users can make use of this functionality by simply turning to the Profile tab within the application and tapping on the add accounts feature. WeChat and Strava were already present in the list of options where now Google Fit appears as well.
Connection is made automatically after the credentials are submitted by the user. Heartbeat metrics, steps taken, sleep activity, distance covered and all the workouts get synchronised between Google Fit application and the Amazfit application.
Google Fit feature has only been made available for only smartphones running on Android for now. With any luck, this feature will soon be introduced for the use of iOS users as well on iPhones.
Huami has finally caught up to this because as of now most of the wearables have support for Google Fit added to them by default. This enables the users to keep their personal Google Accounts updated with their health data, workout statistics and fitness metrics. This also gives them the ability to share all these metrics with other applications and devices as well.
Google Fit has improved a lot in last one year or so with new updates and many interesting features. Features like step count was improved just a month ago and the user interface has also improved a lot.
This new update by Huami will work with entire range of smartwatches by Amazfit including Amazfit GTR, Amazfit GTS, Amazfit Bip, Amazfit Verge, Amazfit Stratos, Amazfit Pace and Amazfit T-Rex smartwatches.
