According to this partnership Catapult will supply 390 S5 tracking systems and implant the units in the English National Team as well as the twelve teams of the Super League. These devices will be used for both the matches and training sessions in 2018.
“Catapult’s wearable analytics will be deployed to all twelve of our Super League teams, having already been used by the England Men’s National Team at the Rugby League World Cup in 2017,” stated Chief Commercial Officer at the RFL, Roger Draper. “The RFL have long been associated with technology innovation and our partnership with Catapult enhances our technology credentials as we explore new opportunities for live match day tracking and grassroots wearables. We selected Catapult for their analytics platform capabilities, their service model and the opportunity to explore new commercial opportunities. We are extremely excited about the partnership for the Super League and our teams.”
They have also agreed to range over the live, match day tracking using Catapult’s ClearSky tech. Catapult with the help of Rugby Football League will also investigate data commercialization chances to utilize live metrics reinforced by Catapult for the Super League session in 2018.
