A couple of official and authentic renders of Oppo’s watch were given away for quite some time now but actual image has surfaced online which appears to be official look of Oppo Watch. This smartwatch, which will add to the long list of Apple Watch competitors available in the market is set to be unveiled on 6th of March this year.
Oppo is already a very popular brand and it is known around the world for its smartphones. This brand, based in China, is now focusing on expanding its portfolio by targeting the wearables market and it had decided to start this off with the launch of a smartwatch.
Oppo is a fairly recent brand as it just got registered back in 2001 while its operations started in 2004, after three years. Since then it has come a long way as it stands at the top of the ladder when it comes to smart phone manufacturers in China. It has been holding this position since around the summer of 2016.
For now, the smartwatch will have a boxed rectangular shape of the dial. Unfortunately, that futuristic foldable design for which Oppo has been holding the patent for will not be realised in this edition of Oppo’s smartwatch.
However, we will get a very elegant looking smartwatch with curved edges and Hyperboloid OLED screen. Two physical navigational buttons will be present on one side of the smartwatch and except this, Oppo Watch very closely resembles Apple Watch in appearance. Between these two buttons is space for a mic hole. Lower button out of these two also has a LED light. Brian Shen, Vice President of OPPO, posted official render of Oppo Watch on twitter. He also claimed “The curved screen and 3D glass will be a game changer.”
Oppo smartwatch can be reserved in advance through Oppo Smartwatch application. It is expected to be unveiled on 6th March this year alongside Oppo Find X2 Pro and Oppo find X2.
