Motus Global doesn’t need an introduction. It has become a world leader in advanced biomechanical analysis which helps coaches, athletes, and trainers to optimize performance and to prevent any sort of injuries.
Motus Global has recently launched motusQB which infuses the power of never seen before biomechanics data to the football field; in order to prevent injuries, increase the knowledge about it, and helps player feel the natural environment free of haphazard.
The gathered workload data by motusQB helps coaches, teams and players identify risk factors for injury and fatigue, and can also be used to identify training loads that optimize player arm health, performance, and throw speed.
The University of Oregon is one of the first colleges in the nation to utilize the new technology with its QBs. The QBs at Oregon utilize motusQB sensor and technology daily during practice. With the help of motusQB and alongside other technologies employed, Coaches and trainers have been able to identify trends and to guide workload management or conduct specific intervention with the athletes. motusQB provides the ability to have advanced biomechanics analysis on the field in real-time.
motusQB consists of a 3D sensor embedded in a compression arm sleeve or an arm band, and is worn throughout all throwing activity. The sensor records raw 3D movement data of the throwing arm and transmits that data to a mobile app via Bluetooth, during or after a training session. The mobile app computes biomechanical metrics of the throw and stores them to a server and analytics dashboard for deeper analysis.
The focus of the advanced analytics is placed on Acute and Chronic elbow workload trends. Daily workload is measured by accumulating the amount of stress placed on the elbow from all throws in a day, with Motus’ proprietary algorithm. An Acute workload is measured as a 1-week average of daily load and a Chronic workload is measured as a 1-month average of a daily load. Over time, players and coaches are warned when Acute workloads begin to spike and surpass Chronic workloads, and daily training regimens can then be adjusted to keep athletes within optimal training volumes.
motusQB is available for $150 and can be ordered from the official website of Motus Global.
