The Misfit Shine 2 is a high tech, compact and fashionable fitness band that is a definite go to for people looking to stay in shape, stay healthy and stay in control, this band will go with any outfit be it casual wear or workout clothing and make that outfit complete! The Misfit Shine has the ability to automatically track your footsteps whether that be walking, jogging or going 100%.Secondly it is completely waterproof for up to 50 meters, this means that you can still track your progress when swimming in the pool or abroad in the sea…sounds great right? it also has the capability of measuring the distance you travel each day whilst being able to tell you at which points of the day you were most active, as well as this it counts the number of calories you have painstakingly managed to burn off to get you one step closer to reaching your goal, in addition to all of these fantastic features that become apparent when you are awake there is another feature that works when you are taking your well-deserved rest, this feature is a monitor that measures how much sleep you get as well as recording how much of that sleep is light sleep and which is restful sleep, the Misfit Shine does this by monitoring the amount of movement you do for the duration of your rest.
When unboxing the Misfit Shine 2 it contained several items within the very small compact box, these were; a small rubber magnetised clasp that the misfit could attach to magnetically so that it could be placed onto your shoes, onto your waist or onto your top. A watch like sports band that the misfit could also be placed into so that you can place it on your wrist like a normal watch. A battery that lasts around 6 months depending on how much you use the product which means no waiting around for the device to charge!, and lastly the box came with the actual Misfit Shine itself which is a small disk shaped object that is slightly bigger than a 2p coin, it is made from anodized aluminium which helps make this product extremely light weight (9g on its own or 16g with the sports band). On the face of the Misfit Shine it showed 12 LED lights that would help track your progress and become fully lit when your goal for the day was complete and was then ready for the next day to begin helping you achieve your targets over and over again, because after all…who doesn’t love achieving their targets?
So after reading through the instructions I decided it was time for me to crack on and start setting up my Misfit Shine 2 as I couldn’t wait to have a play around with it.(I was so excited to start tracking my progress). Firstly you have to use this small disk shaped tool that comes included in the box to try and pry the base off so that I could place in the battery to get started, it did take quite a while to get the hang of it but eventually I did it. After I successfully did this my next mission was to download the app, create my Misfit Shine 2 account and synchronize my devise to my phone via Bluetooth, once this was achieved I was then able to start tracking my footsteps, calories and etc.
My personal experience with the Misfit Shine was extremely enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable fitness band that does exactly what it says on the box. Due to me being very active I was able to get the full experience of the fitness band and try out all of its features, the best bit for me about the fitness band was that I could clip it onto my shorts during training or matches as I was not permitted to wear jewellery on my wrists but was allowed to place the little clip onto my waist to continue the tracking of my calories burned and my activity levels. The one downfall to this fitness band was with the 12 small LED lights, I found that when walking in a very sunny or well lit up area the lights would suddenly not show up due to the light intensity so I would often find myself finding a darker area or trying to minimize the amount of light getting to the Misfit Shine 2Â so that I could see my progress. The second issue I had was that my phone had to be really close to my Misfit Shine 2 in order for it to sync up so that if the devise was attached to my shoes I would often find myself having to remove it to then sync it with the app which became quite frustrating. Â Apart from this I really enjoyed using the Misfit Shine 2 for a few months and would give it an 8/10 as it is everything you need in a fitness band.
