This innovative and useful device can easily become a part of your living room. Windows 10 VR Headset attaches to the PC and runs on windows 10. These new VR headsets for Windows 10 starts at $299. Partnership of Microsoft will ship a new line of virtual reality headsets to take advantage of Windows 10’s holographic capabilities and headsets.
What’s New in Windows 10 VR Headset:
According to Microsoft, headsets will include inside-out tracking sensors, obviating the requirement of laser systems or external cameras like those on HTC Vive or the current Oculus Rift. Lenovo, Asus, Dell, HP and Acer are all listed partners.
Not much is known about the headsets but they are different from HoloLens which projects virtual objects into the real world. Listed partners of Microsoft are already working on the Windows 10 VR Headset to some extent.
However, the first wave of these head mounted displays (HMDs) has been arrived at CES 2017. Special event was held by Microsoft at the event during the show to give the press a sneak peak at how these headsets will actually look, also laying out its expectations for partner devices. At this CES media event, HP, Dell and Acer specifically displayed the designs they are working on. Designs looked interesting. HP’s design has a cool black aesthetic, Acer’s design looked as if it came straight from the company’s gaming team and Dell’s headset resembled the PlayStation VR.
If Microsoft could convince Windows 10 VR Headset makers to let Windows Holographic power its headsets then it can easily make platform around VR to sell apps and games which will be powered by Windows 10. Actual plan of Microsoft is to lower the rates of entry into the VR world, and it’s sharing its Key HoloLens development and research with partners in order to enable this. One thing is for sure, it is definitely going to be a big year for Microsoft devices.
