To the surprise of many, Huami has got another one of it’s fitness wrist bands approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Amazfit Band 6 is registered after the registration of Band 5, which took place only a couple of weeks ago.
Earlier in July, this year, many leaks and reports suggested that another one of the fitness wearables was under the process of development by Huami. It was unveiled on the website of FCC which only gave away a few bits and pieces of what we could expect in upcoming fitness band called Amazfit Band 5.
It was revealed to have features like water-resistance rating of up to 5 ATM under water, around the clock heart rate monitoring, multiple sports modes, GPS connectivity, AMOLED display, 125 mAh battery capacity and AMOLED display. This smart wearable fitness band is compatible with Android 5.0 and iOS 10.0 or higher versions of both operating systems. All these features are very impressive for a fitness band in today’s day and age.
All these features are identical to the features available in Xiaomi’s MI Band 5. After all, Huami also manufactures fitness devices for Xiaomi as well. Mi Band 5 was introduced in Asia last month.
Mi Band 5 is expected to sell as Amazfit Band 5 in United States market which is an understandable move considering the fact that Amazfit is has already been selling Smartwatches in the United States, which makes it a recognizable name there in wearables market as compared to Xiaomi. However, the registration of Amazfit Band 6 with FCC is a bit confusing considering the fact that Amazfit Band 5 was registered only a few weeks ago. Documentation of Amazfit Band 6 has not revealed much so far regarding the features or form of the device. Under the circumstances, we might not have to wait too long before all the features are unveiled to us because it does not usually take too long for a product launch after it is registered with FCC.
