Casio has unveiled its latest smartwatch which carries a bit of inspiration from Honda Racing Team. This smartwatch, which is called Honda Racing Watch, brings with itself smartwatch notifications and smartphone connectivity. However, it does not carry many fitness features.
This smartwatch was unveiled to mark the launch of EDIFICE, a brand launched two decades ago. Over these last two decades, EDIFICE watches have ranged all over from advanced smart versions to old fashioned chronograph timepieces. The market targeted by this brand is highly corporate and professional. EDIFICE watches have been coming with features like multiple dials, world time and alarms to cater to the needs of this professional consumers of theirs.
ECB-10HR is the latest watch to be launched under this brand which has resulted from a partnership between Casio and Honda Racing. Honda Racing Watch, as it is named, is the third device to be launched from this collaboration between these two giants. Honda has associated itself with Scuderia AlphaTauri Formula One Team for almost two years now.
The skin of this smartwatch comes in red and black to resemble the colours of Honda F1 unforms. According to Casio, the dial has been crafted from same type of carbon which is used for manufacturing motor sports equipment.
“Our newest EDIFICE timepiece was inspired by the drive and momentum of the Honda Racing team,” stated David Johnson, “Casio has been an official partner of Honda Racing since 2018 and we look forward to collaborating on additional timepieces in the future that embody both the velocity and energy of motorsports.” David Johnson is the Vice President of Timepiece Division at Casio.
This 107 grams weighing smartwatch spans around the dimensions of 51mm X 48.55mm X 12.5mm and carries water resistance rating up to 100 meters depth under water. CR2016 battery keeps this smartwatch running for as long as two years. Casio plans to make this smartwatch available for sale during May this year and it will have a price tag of $330 reportedly.
