Wearable watches have been all the rage for the past few years. Latest innovation and actions in technology has taken it to newer heights and will continue to do so in the coming years.

We are currently in a new wave of a technological era, from fitness bands to virtual reality headsets. These advancements are bound to have an impact on our lives.

This trend has taken a new turn with the launch of Android Wear 2.0. It is one of the biggest updates that have been launched where smart watches are concerned. Android Wear 2.0 offers you a more informative user interface, better, customizable watch faces, better health tracking, more advanced ways to use apps and an on the go Google Assistant. The major motive behind developing this update was to have a standalone device which is less reliant on your smart phone. If we look at specific details, Android Wear comes with new apps that are not dependent on your phones but instead can connect via Bluetooth, WI-Fi or your cellular date, enabling it to work as a self reliant device.

Wear 2.0 also has a redesigned user interface with new notification design, darker color palette and a new app launcher. All these will make for a longer battery life. You can also add your own widgets to any of the watch faces, making it highly customizable.

The new update has text input along with voice input. So in case, you don’t feel like reading your messages out loud, you can either use handwriting recognition – the screen scrolls as you write with your finger or an actual keyboard with next word suggestions and swipe input to key in data. Google has also managed to bring Google Assistant to your wrist. It enables you to reply to messages and give directions with a simple “ok Google” as previously seen with Google Pixel.
