Google Fit Update on WearOS brings Features


Recent update of Google Fit application on WearOS and Android has new and improved set of features in more than one way. Details were unveiled by Google via a blog which gave a detailed account of what new has been introduced and what upgrades have been made in already existing features.

To begin with, the Wear OS version of Google Fit application comes with better monitoring and tracking. Two tiles devoted to performance metrics will show you all of your important stats. Music controls will only be a swipe away to your right.

Keeping tabs on pace has also been made a lot simpler for runners. At the end of each Kilometer, the user will be notified via a push notification. These notifications will also compare the data to your previous split as well.

Keeping track of heart rate has also become a lot easier with the help a section at the top dedicated specifically for it. You can customize the workout statistics as per your preferences. You will have the freedom to go through your steps count, time, heart rate, heart point and calorie metrics.

You can also tweak your workout goals by giving a tap on the icon of flag at the lower part of the display screen. Target steps, Heart Points, Calorie Count and Distance covered can be set as per your choice. New set of animations are also introduced to mark the achievements of reaching daily goals. Accidental touch protection has also been introduced to avoid any kind of unintended touches. Hardware buttons can be made use of to play, pause, resume and switch screens.

There has also been an introduction of a tile termed Breathe Tile. It lets you relax for a given amount of time, after which it will notify you of the change in the rate of your heartbeat. This new update is expected to arrive on WearOS Smart Watches very soon.
