Fitbit, after the reports regarding insufficient or rather inaccurate data, is planning to make an entry again. The company is currently testing two different devices. Both the wearables are expected to launch at IFA scheduled for September 2016.
Different sources have revealed that the new wearables have been codenamed as Laryon and Fermion. The same sources have also revealed that both the devices are being used openly, as they are in the beta testing phase. The only thing that is protecting them from the prying eyes and eager soul is “black wrist covers”.
To those who are still unaware, Fitbit Laryon appeared on some documents with the company’s lawsuit along with Jawbone. However, this is for the first time the word has been out regarding the codenames. The readers who haven’t guessed yet the company is using several atom related names for its devices. The Fitbit Alta was codenamed as Lepton which is a half- integer spin particle. As for the new codenames, both Fermion and Laryon are types of subatomic particles. No surprises here, though!
Fitbit will unveil Fitbit Flex 2 and Fitbit Charge 2 in IFA 2016. There is a possibility that both the mentioned devices are codenamed as Laryon and Fermion. But that is just the popular guess, so it takes it with a grain (read: bag) of salt.
This is all we have for now. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more. Stay tuned!
