FitBt Sense and FitBit Versa 3 come with built in speakers and microphone which basically is the hardware you need to make or receive calls. But is the functionality being offered by these devices?
Both of these smart devices were launched few months ago and are the most technologically developed products by FitBit as of now. These devices are already doing very well at fitness and health tracking but that is not where their functionality stops.
Support for both front runner voice assistants of the wearable market – Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is also available on these Smart Watches. All you need to do is to say the command out loud and the watches will do as per the instructions.
Now whether or not these smart watches can be used to make or take calls is yet to be seen. And may be this functionality will come to these devices sooner than we think. We have already seen smart watches which offer the functionality of taking calls. The usual procedure is to reject or accept a call ringing on a smart phone connected to the devices.
Official statement by FitBit following the launch of FitBit Sense and FitBit Versa 3 stated that
“Fitbit Versa 3 has even more smart features to add convenience to your day, including a built-in speaker and microphone to take quick phone calls, send calls to voicemail and adjust call volume – all from the wrist.”
Both these Smart Watches come with a huge set of similar features, thus the statement above also speaks for FitBit sense as well.
The feature, however, hasn’t gone live as of first week of November this year. A moderator on FitBit forum stated that
“Hey everyone, you will be able to take calls soon in a future update. Please keep an eye out for it.”
So we can definitely hope to see this feature really soon. May be before the conclusion of this year.
