Fitbit has just announced the next iteration of their best seller wearable along with targeting the smart jewelry market. Here is the summary of the new products:
Flex 2 is the direct successor to the company’s most popular product, Flex which was launched 3 years back. The company have decided to keep the same style i.e. it has no screen thus informs the wearer using LED lights and vibrations. Though, while maintaining the looks of the original Flex, the Flex 2 is 30% smaller and water resistant to a depth of 50 meters. It comes with SmartTrack technology which detects your activities automatically. It has a removable tracker and the interchangeable rubber band comes in 7 different colors. The device cost $99 making it affordable and stylish at the same time.
Fitbit has revamped Charge with a new improved 1.5 inch display making Charge 2 pretty much similar to Fitbit smart watch, Surge. Not only are the Fitbit Charge 2 bands interchangeable so it can fit into more stylish look if required, the clock faces can be customized as well. It comes with standard activity and sleep tracker, integrated heart rate monitor and new software features that lets you track running routes, distance calculations and workout intervals. There is also a feature that lets you relax and a mechanism to measure your fitness level through estimated VO2 Max. It comes with SmartTrack technology which detects your activities automatically. Charge 2 costs $150 and wearer has 4 different colors to choose from.
Fitbit has also targeted the smart jewelry market with the release of new wearables designed for fashion enthusiast. A stainless steel bangle comes with an option of gold, rose gold or silver and a stainless steel pendant comes in silver or gold. The actual activity tracker is smartly and safety tucked in a cage.
