Fitbit Alta HR To Be Launched With The Missing Heart Rate Monitoring Feature

Though Fitbit has always come up with exciting and innovative gadgets, we all know how its Alta has been missing on a very basic and vital feature – heart rate monitoring.

San Francisco based sports and health gadget manufacturer has announced to launch Alta HR which will be a useful addition to their range of slimmest and the most stylish health and fitness gadgets.

Alta HR has swappable bands. It can monitor steps, distance, calories and sleep time. It has a notification bar to show incoming calls, text messages and calendar alerts. It has the additive feature of 24/7 heart rate monitoring to keep a better eye on your overall health and wellbeing.

With this new wearable, Fitbit has reduced its Pure Pulse technology to a wrist-sized device.

Alta HR detects running, biking and various other forms of exercise. It can display real-time target heart rate zone during workout, so that you can customize your sessions for fat burning, conditioning and boosting sports performance.

Along with all day long monitoring of exercise and resting heart rate, Alta HR will also have the ‘Sleep Stages’ feature. This feature utilizes data from accelerometer and heart rate monitor to accurately estimate the time you spent in light, deep, and REM sleep stages each night. ‘Sleep Insights’ provides you with insights to improve your daily sleep.

“Alta HR and these powerful new sleep features demonstrate our continued focus on evolving our innovative technology to deliver deeper, more actionable insights to help our users improve their health,” said James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit.

Alta HR will be available for sale in April 2017. It is available for pre-order on fitbit.com.
