Diving Smartwatch – ScanWatch Horizon By Withings Is A Luxury Watch

The Diving Smartwatch – ScanWatch Horizon By Withings is out and about in most parts of the world, and is now making its way towards the USA. A luxury dive watch, it is the latest device manufactured and presented by Withings. No doubt, Withings has a class of its own. Also, it offers a completely new and innovative look than the regular smartwatch.

If you are fed up with old-fashioned style fitness bands, health-focused wearables, then the Withings ScanWatch Horizon is absolutely meant for you. It has a digital display with a traditional mechanical format.

According to Withings, they were inspired by other luxury dive watches like the “Submariner” and “Seamaster” for the design of this particular watch. With a reflection-free sapphire glass casing with titanium finish and a stainless steel rotating bezel, the smartwatch looks absolutely a magnificent piece of craftsmanship. Also present are luminescent watch hands and indicators for visibility in the dark.

A fine watch meant to be used while doing any water-related activities above 100 meters (330 feet). For swimming, surfing and even snorkeling it’s fine. However, its counterpart watches like Rolex and Omega are waterproof at a depth of 300 meters (980 feet). Also, its water resistance is only rated at 10 ATM. That’s not really well suited for diving.

As a fine fitness tracker, the ScanWatch Horizon can perform really well. It can automatically recognize and track more than 30 activities. These include walking, running, swimming, and cycling. Moreover, it has a Bluetooth connectivity feature so you can use your phone to track routes via GPS. The battery lasts a whole 30 days, and that is the best thing about it. The data collected via the watch is synced back to the Withings Health Mate app on your phone. Performance can be monitored or linked to Apple Health, Google Fit, Strava, and more.

Even capable of measuring heart rate and blood oxygen, the ScanWatch Horizon has several other health-focused features. It can estimate the VO2 Max fitness level and prompt the user to record a 30-seconds “medical-grade” ECG on detection of an irregular heartbeat. The watch also tracks the user’s sleeping status and may warn the user of possible disorders regarding sleep habits.

Available for €499.95/£499.95 in Germany, UK, and France already, now it has also received permission for sale in the US. The Diving Smartwatch – ScanWatch Horizon looks good enough as a health and fitness wearable, with really promising features.
