AFC Bournemouth is one of a few Premier League sides utilizing Catapult G5 technology to analyze and enhance goalkeeper performance.
It is used by clubs including Chelsea, Leicester City, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. The G5 uses inertial sensors inside a GPS gadget to convey remarkable, goalkeeper-oriented data that measure the volume and force of a goalkeeper’s activities.
Neil Moss, the head of goalkeeping for Bournemouth to Sky Sports in an exclusive interview, “With the first-team scenario, you are talking millimetres between a save and a goal. So anything we can do to try to close those millimetres to make the save rather than it be a goal, we’re going to be all for that. Catapult gives us the opportunity to make sure our goalkeepers are in tip-top shape…”
When it comes to competition, AFC Bournemouth’s willingness to adapt technology is proving to be a game changer. These tiny little changes is what makes the difference between a failure or a success.
