Apple Worldwide Developers Conference to Take Place Virtually

Apple recently announced that it’s much anticipated World Developers Conference will be called in online due to social distancing measures. This conference has never been held online and this would be a massive first and may be even a milestone of sorts.

Developers belonging to all parts of the globe gather around every year, usually in San Jose in California for this conference organised by Apple itself. However, Things are being done differently this year because of social distancing measures taken in the wake of COVID-19 crisis. Developers will join in from their offices and homes on 22nd of June this year to be a part of this event.

“WWDC20 will be our biggest yet, bringing together our global developer community of more than 23 million in an unprecedented way for a week in June to learn about the future of Apple platforms,” Phil Schiller stated. Phil is the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Apple.

“We can’t wait to meet online in June with the global developer community and share with them all of the new tools we’ve been working on to help them create even more incredible apps and services. We look forward to sharing more details about WWDC20 with everyone as we get closer to this exciting event.” He went on to add.

The spread of Corona Virus has forced many event into rescheduling, going virtual or straight up just cancellation. From sports events as huge as the Olympics to global events like these and even election campaigns have suffered due to this but obviously there should not be any compromise over people’s health and safety.

New developments will be unveiled in the field of software at this conference by Apple. Most anticipated out of these are obviously iOS 14 and WatchOS 7. Rumours and leaks are already coming in by nothing is confirmed obviously until Apple makes official announcement.
