Apple Watch Series 5 unveiled at Apple Special Event

Apple Watch Series 5 has officially been unveiled by Apple at its special event based in its Headquarters in California. To everyone’s surprise, this new series of Apple Watch has a retina display which stay on 24/7. Although the introduction of this feature has not affected the life of its battery at all as it operates for the same amount of time as the previous version of Apple Watch, The Apple Watch Series 4. On the other hand, it is still missing the sleep tracking feature.

Apple is most certainly not the first one to introduce a display that stays always on because a lot of brands have already introduced it in their flagship and even midrange and budget products. Even though Apple is late to the party but this is still a surprise for many as this feature was not expected to be launched in this new Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 5 has made no compromises on battery life even after introducing the always-on feature. It stays up and running for 18 hours before it needs to be charged. Apple Watch series 4 had the same span of battery life.

Other notable features introduced in his year’s Apple Watch are compass and elevation. Both these features assist the users in navigating better through the day. The emergency call feature has also been spread out to 150 countries. Besides that, all else is more or less identical to Apple Watch Series 4.

“We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6,” Jeff Williams said “The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about.” He is the COO of Apple inc.

Apple Watch Series 5 starts from $399 but it’s LTE=Enabled variant costs around $499. It can be pre-ordered from Apple’s official website and the shipping will start from 20th September.
