Next activity challenge on Apple Watch is going to launch on 5th of June this year for World Environment Day. The last challenge of this kind took place around three months ago.
World Environment Day has been celebrated annually since 1972 after it was designated by United Nations to raise awareness about taking care of the environment we live in. Organizations on both public and private sector are encouraged to hold awareness drives and activates to educate the massed around this subject.
Apple is playing its part in this cause for the first time with its activity challenge which is going to be held on the day. Apple did not hold any such event for World Earth Day which was celebrated just last month which may have something to do with being cautious prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, the spread appears to have been slowed down since. Apple has decided to take this opportunity to inspire it consumers to be active.
“Stand up for the planet on World Environment Day. Close your Stand ring on June 5 and earn this award by getting up and moving around for at least one minute during 12 hours that day,” as stated by Apple.
It is not confirmed yet whether the availability of this challenge will either be international or not. This challenge will start to appear on Apple watches by any time now. The challenge will most likely be doable from your homes without having to step outside at all. This measure is taken to keep people from unnecessarily stepping outside as COVID-19 is still pretty much a threat. The last challenge of this kind was held on International Women’s Day back on 8th March this year to celebrate the Women of the world. This challenge asked the users to finish a 20 minutes long work out to celebrate the day.
