According to the grapevine, a future Apple Smartwatch to get Rockley’s Sensor for Alcohol and Glucose Tracking. A senior official has claimed the sensor will make the gadget be a “Clinic on a wrist“.

The Uk-based company, Rockley Photonics is already a major supplier to Apple. It has successfully unveiled a new wearable reference design. This design is capable of performing almost all health-related functions including measurement of alcohol, glucose trends, and blood pressure. Moreover, it is capable of tracking body temperature, blood pressure, and body hydration. It’s sure going to be a huge leap forward in the health and fitness wearable market.

Many companies like Fitbit and Zepp Health are also on the verge of developing such sensors. But, currently, it seems like Apple and Rockley Photonics will win the race. However, this sensor module will not be available to consumers for the time being. Research and studies will be carried out and the sensor is used to demonstrate these cutting-edge health sensors.

Making use of infrared (IR) spectrophotometers, the Rockley Photonic’s technology can monitor a wide range of biomarkers. The sensor probes beneath the skin to analyze blood, fluids, and dermis to indicate the corresponding reading.
