WORLD MAKER FAIRE- As the name suggests is the sole competition of the world which focuses on making and spreading what you made. In simple words it revolves around the “Do It Yourself” philosophy.
Maker Faire is basically a carnival sort of event with the spirit to celebrate the tendency to make, initiate good ideas, entrepreneurial qualities and can-do-spirit. The event involves any kind of available information that can be used to craft something new.
It is a two day family festival in which more than 200 tech specialist, designers, craftsmen and inventors of any sort will be involved in a fun-filled experience. It is a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather together to show what they are making and share what they are learning.
Maker Faire has celebrated 150 Faire in 2015. The fair is successful in engaging more than 1.1 million attendees worldwide in over 30 countries around the world. It was first time launched in San Mateo, California, in 2006. The 10th annual Maker Faire Bay Area had around 1,200 Makers and 145,000 attendees.
The currently scheduled World Maker Faire New York, the East Coast flagship event, has grown in five years to 830+ Makers and 85,000 attendees.
