Garmin launched the second generation of its Garmin Swim watches few days ago which would keep monitoring your heartbeat under water. Apart from this, it also carries a lot of fitness and health features and comes with built in GPS.

Garmin has put in a lot of effort in expanding its range of smart watches for sports and fitness. Although Garmin Swim had not seen any update in a long time after being launched back in 2014. This was changed few days ago with the unveiling of Garmin Swim 2.

To the surprise of no one, this new generation of Garmin Swim comes with a lot of features and upgrades as compared to the original Garmin Swim. Some of these features include Garmin Elevate heart rate monitor and a built in functionality of GPS/GLONASS/Galileo.

Garmin Swim 2 is also larger in size than its professor and has dimension measurements of 44mm x 48mm x 13mm while the original Garmin Swim only measured 42mm x 42mm x 11.2mm. With the help of Garmin Chroma Display Technology built inside Garmin Swim 2 stay always on and projects a full colour display making everything easily readable even directly under the sun.

Other major features in Garmin Swim 2 include the usual monitoring of step covered, move bar, distance covered, calories burnt etc. Swim tracking also received a huge update from Garmin Swim in Garmin Swim 2 due to the addition of built in GPS monitoring and tracking. Notification support, social features and a battery life that lasts for a week are some of the other upgrades worth mentioning in Garmin Swim 2. Critical Swim Speed, Auto Rest, Alerts for time, distance and pacing are some of the other few swimming centric features available in this smartwatch.
