Myntra, the Flipkart owned, online fashion retail recently decided to foray into the fitness & wearable industry by launching a fitness band called “Blink Go”. The journey doesn’t stop here because Myntra has plans for making different smart wearable products.
Plans For Future
Myntra is looking for in house endeavors as well as seeking third party manufacturers who’ll help them expand their new wearables platform. They want someone who can help them integrate new technologies and help them sell their products on the online store.
The Blink Go fitness band comes with a color display that’s being retailed for INR 1679 . The band has an integrated activity tracker that can monitor your heart rate, distance covered, calories burned and it can also track your steps.
Myntra was fast to expand it’s technological prowess and is now seeking to launch more products like smart shoes and ear phones. The online retailers are aiming to hold a monopoly on the wearbles sold in India, in the next 3 years.
Myntra is planning to use Vitworks’ Marvin operating system and also to build more products for the Android platform as well.
