Garmin Fenix 6 Gets Swim 2 Features Support

The brand new beta update of Garmin Fenix 6 has added support for features of Swim 2. These features include Pacing alerts, Swim Time data field, Auto Rest and a few more.

Few weeks ago, an update in firmware was released for Forerunner 945 and Forerunner 245 which included all these functionalities. Although, only beta version is available but it is up for download and use for anyone who wishes to have it on their watch.

Garmin Fenix 6 was launched back in September of 2019. This is one of the high end smartwatches which can be used for keeping an eye on every kind of activity from skiing to snorkelling. Its version of software has gotten up to v5.72 from v5.00

The most noticeable change in the update is the introduction of Swim 2 features in it. Auto Rest, Critical Swim Speed, Swim Workout improvements, Swim Time Data field, Swim Dead Reckoning for OWS and Pacing Alerts are few of the features in this update that come under the Swim 2 functionality.

Other updates in firmware have added the Action Menu support with an Expedition app. This support makes it easier to make use of more smart features and functions. On top of that, it also improves the performance of the compass as well. Obviously a lot of bugs and errors were also fixed in code as well which were present in the previous updates.

This update can be easily installed by just connecting your Garmin Fenix 6 smartwatch to a PC with the help of a USB cable, downloading the firmware file from online and following a few steps. On the other hand, you can just wait for Garmin to release the firmware publicly. Which is expected to drop in following few weeks so the wait is not going to be much.
