Aston Villa is one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in the history of English Football. Though relegated from Premier League to Championship last season, the club was recently sold to a Chinese company, Recon Group making Tony Xia, the chairman and owner of Aston Villa Football Club.
Tony seems to be keen in investing on technology mainly Virtual Reality (VR) to engage with the overseas fans. He was recently asked a question by his follower on twitter.
@Dr_TonyXia Hi Tony, are there any plans to create an international/ membership scheme so that us non-UK Villa fans can feel part of Club?

Within 7 minutes, Tony replied to his followers on his intention on using Virtual Reality.
Yes,working on many plans including developing VR equipment to help fans engage games etc. remotely. https://t.co/t23csEc3zp

Though Tony did not share further information about the plan nor the timelines but I am sure Aston Villa fans across the world can’t wait to get access to excusing content in VR such as behind-the-scenes views, pre and post-game locker room and interviews.
